Duane and I attended our first ever major league baseball game last night. Getco offers tickets to the White Sox game on a regular basis to employee's and one guest.
Duane and I donned our coats and were ready to sit out in the rain (and quite happy and willing to do so) when we realized that our passes said "box 208" Boy, we were in for a great time!We walked through a gate, took an elevator up several floors, and walked down a long corridor.
And when we entered box 208 we saw friends! and TONS of food! and an AMAZING view of the game from our open air box above the stadium.
It was so neat to talk with these employees and their spouses. There were several other "newbies" there and Duane and I were in good company.
There was a buffet with chicken wings, nachos, hot dogs, salad, fruit, shrimp, chips, - really everything a pregnant belly could eat (and probably shouldn't) And a really nice waitress named "Kay" who served us drinks throughout the game (she was a teacher at a local Jr. High and did the box thing as a summer job- CHEERS for our public school teachers!)
Here is a video of our view, I was surprised at how much I could enjoy a game of baseball!
After dinner we each got a choice of desserts, and Duane and I chose a sundae that we could make ourselves. They put the sundaes in these cute little White Sox hats, after eating the contents, we got to take the cap home.
It was a neat experience!
