Family saves the day

After Rella May arrived, my Mom (Ginger) and Sister (Leah) both flew into Chicago to offer their love and support (and good cooking) to help us out the first few weeks as a family with a little one. Not only did their wholehearted support make the transition easier, it bolstered Rella's little spirit (and mine as well :) This is a picture Leah took from our window - a rather pretty one (good job leah)

First we had the loving support of my mom (pictured below with baby Rella)

And then the "clean-the-house-while-cooking-a-gormet-meal-and-writing-a-blog-about-women-in-africa" skills of my sister
I couldn't say enough about how much their support meant to us - basically

"Thank Heaven For Family" is my new slogan. I hope I can do for a new mom what was done for me someday.

And, Yes, Duane and I are still enamored with our little girl (even when she is up at night)

I mean, I could you
not love a face like this? She has her fathers eyes :)

Right now I hear Duane in the living room talking to Rella about programming, I don't have the heart to tell him she can't understand HTML for awhile yet. . .

Ha, ha, ha, I am cracking up at your description of me. Oh boy do I have you fooled my dear, but thank you for the sweet comments. What a delight it was for me to be there and how I miss my Rella!
