(dramatic pause) After 7 years of hard work, Duane officially Graduated from Brigham Young University with a Bachelor of Science in Computers on Aug. 14th, 2009 . Duane and I flew into Provo on Thursday, Aug. 13th, the same day as commencement.
It was a beautiful day in Provo, Utah for a graduation:

Duane's mom and sister came all the way from Canada to be there for his special day (14 hours in a car. . . now that's LOVE) Thank you Beth and Amber! It was great to see you.

We were also delighted to have a visit from the Simonson Family, who really made the atmosphere festive. This family was involved in the beginning of our marriage, and we have been blessed by their love and support throughout our 5 years together. Thank you for coming Simonsons! We love you! They drove in from Idaho.

After Commencement and Convocation, Duane and I threw a party and had a blast talking to family and friends. Here is Duane with his official graduation cake (Costco makes THE BEST carrot cake, next to my mom's homemade cake)
Thank you to all our family and friends who participated in this special event, it meant so much to Duane and I.

After the Graduation festivities, Mom arranged for a relaxing stay at my Uncle Kens Cabin. Wow, it was beautiful, it made this little pregnant lady want to cry. Pictured here with Greg Harris and Victoria Harris who were on their way to Utah State University (and luckily spent a few nights with us inbetween) for Victoria's first semester. Good Luck Victoria! Next to Duane is our dear friend, Bonsie, with whom we had the most wonderful conversations during the car ride there and back.

I am SO PROUD of Duane in persisting through school and achieving his degree, WAY TO GO honey. It's wonderful to go back to Utah to graduate knowing we have a Job waiting for us in Chicago. BABY (gender still unknown :) is proud of you too!

What a fabulous time we had together!
I'm so proud of that young man for overcoming the obstacles and saying NO to enticements that would have ROBBED him of that graduation experience.
Thanks, Kelty, for sharing these memories with us.
